Typhoon Bopha headed right forward Palau. But at the last moment it just turned to the west and fortunately went south of them. Palau escaped the brunt of the storm, noting that Palau doesn't usually get hit by strong typhoons.

A drive around Koror reveals a lot of downed trees and power lines.

There are reports of serious water damage along the coast including the dock in Melekeok. Tidal surge caused damages and a few homes were destroyed across the country.

Damage wise, it is too early for official reports to come in. It is way too early as assessment and mitigation work have yet to begun. So far no reports of injuries or deaths.
