Yesterday I visited, together with my Dutch colleague Tjeerd van den Berg, the BlueTEC prototype near Texel.

This unique floating platform generates clean electricity from the ... tides. The tidal energy platform has an innovative modular design and holds up to 200 kW tidal turbines. It can be shipped and installed anywhere in the world to provide clean electricity in remote areas and small islands (Palau ?) replacing expensive and polluting diesel generators.
